According to Turkish Government, house sales decreased by 31.3 per cent in May 2019 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, reached 82,252. For the house sales of May 2019, İstanbul had the highest share of house sales with 19.3 per cent with 15,895 houses sold. İstanbul was followed by Ankara with 8,240 house sales and Antalya with 5,091 house sales (share of 10 per cent and 6.2 per cent, respectively).

The mortgaged house sales throughout Turkey became 5,231 by decreasing 85.8 per cent compared to the same month of the previous year. House sales with mortgage had a 6.4 per cent share of all house sales in Turkey. Most of house sales with mortgage was in İstanbul with 1,163 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that has most house sales with mortgage share with 22.2 per cent. Mortgaged house sales had the highest share in Eskisehir with 19 per cent of all house sales.

Other house sales in Turkey became 77, 021 by decreasing 7 per cent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the other sales, İstanbul was the first province with 14,732 sales and 19.1 per cent share. Other house sales had 92.7 per cent share of all house sales in İstanbul. Ankara was the second province with 7,658 sales. Ankara was followed by Antalya with 4,829 sales.

New house sales in Turkey became 33,765 in May 2019 by decreasing 39.2 per cent compared to the same month of 2018. New house sales had 41.1 per cent share of all house sales in Turkey. The greatest number of new house sales was in İstanbul with 6,873 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkey ranking that had most new house sales share with 20.4 per cent. İstanbul was followed by Ankara with 3,421 house sales and Antalya with 2,186 house sales.

Second hand house sales in Turkey recorded as 48,487 by decreasing 24.4 per cent compared to the same month of the previous year. In the second hand sales, İstanbul was the first province again with 9,022 sales recorded and 18.6 per cent share. Ankara was the second province with 4,819 sales and it was followed by Antalya with 2,905 sales. House sales to foreigners were recorded as 3,925 by increasing 62.5 per cent compared to the same month of the previous year. İstanbul was the first province with 1,734 sales in May 2019 followed by Antalya with 850 house sales, Ankara with 216 house sales, Bursa with 187 house sales and Yalova with 136 house sales.
